AIBILI Recognized by the Ministry of Health with Gold Medal for Distinguished Services

AIBILI – Association for Biomedical Research and Innovation in Light and Imaging was honored by the Portuguese Ministry of Health with the Gold Medal for Distinguished Services on April 7, 2026, during the World Health Day 2026 ceremony, held at the Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon.
 
The ceremony took place under the theme “Together for Health. Stand with Science”, proposed by the World Health Organization, highlighting the importance of science, innovation, and institutional collaboration in addressing current and future challenges in the health sector.
 
During the event, 27 individuals and institutions were recognized for their outstanding contributions to health in Portugal.
 
This recognition acknowledges AIBILI’s work in the coordination of clinical studies, the development of medical imaging technologies, and its collaboration with academic institutions and industry partners to advance new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
 
At the ceremony, AIBILI was represented by Conceição Lobo, President of AIBILI, Daniel Fernandes, current CEO, and Cecília Martinho, former CEO.
 
This distinction represents an important recognition of AIBILI’s mission and of the continued dedication of all those who contribute to its work in clinical research and innovation.
