The Coimbra Coordinating Centre for Clinical Research (4C) is a structure qualified to support Investigator-Initiated and Industry-Sponsored Clinical Trials activities complying with ICH GCP - Good Clinical Tractice Guidelines and EU Clinical Trials Directive.

Centre for Clinical Trials

The Clinical Trial Centre (CEC) performs randomized clinical trials with special emphasis on ophthalmology.

Centre of New Technologies for Medicine

The Centre of New Technologies for Medicine (CNTM) develops new medical diagnostic techniques with special emphasis on the area of eye fundus imaging.

Coimbra Ophthalmology Reading Centre

The Coimbra Ophthalmology Reading Center (CORC) focus its activities in grading fundus images and OCT images of the retina, as well as functional evaluations of the retina using mfERG.

It serves as central Reading Center for a series of clinical trials, mainly in Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) and Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD).

Centre for Health Technology Assessment and Drug Research

The Centre for Health Technology Assessment and Drug Research (CHAD) focus is on evaluation of medicines and other medicinal products for market access purposes, aiming at financing and reimbursement and pharmacovigilance.
