The Coimbra Coordinating Centre for Clinical Research (4C) is a structure qualified to support Investigator-Initiated and Industry-Sponsored Clinical Trials activities complying with ICH GCP - Good Clinical Tractice Guidelines and EU Clinical Trials Directive.
The Clinical Trial Centre (CEC) performs randomized clinical trials with special emphasis on ophthalmology.
The Centre of New Technologies for Medicine (CNTM) develops new medical diagnostic techniques with special emphasis on the area of eye fundus imaging.
The Coimbra Ophthalmology Reading Center (CORC) focus its activities in grading fundus images and OCT images of the retina, as well as functional evaluations of the retina using mfERG.
It serves as central Reading Center for a series of clinical trials, mainly in Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) and Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD).
